Sometimes...

...you have something happen to you that just changes your perspective on things... and not in a good way.

Something like that happened to me yesterday- hence the no posting.

I had outfit pictures all done- and they are fabulous.

I had a relatively good day- and for a Monday that's fabulous.

I had an amazing steak dinner which I would've probably mentioned - and that would've been fabulous.

Then that something happened- It wasn't fabulous.

So in all honesty, I cried a little (okay, a lot).

And I went to bed, because when something like this happens, thats almost all you can do to put off dealing with it.

The only downside to this is when you wake up the next morning (or this morning, whatever) you still have to deal with it. I don't love that.

Don't worry though, I will hopefully post my usual bubbly post tomorrow- or maybe even tonight. Depends on how this day of mine goes, ya know?

So until then here's a little lovin and a little huggin, and here's wishing you have a better day than my night. :)

Real Quick ...

Sometimes taking an outfit picture just doesn't suit.  And I'm ok with that. 

Breaking News: 

I got my hair did (see above picture). I got more caramels and burgundy reds added to the tips.  This was in keeping with my ombre/melt hairstyle I'm goin for. Whatcha think? 

Its raining. 

Actually its snowing. 

oh wait... instant update- sleet. 

Hey can I just say that I love Utah weather? LOVE it. 

In other news, I have a TON of homework to attend to.  Do I want to? pshhh puhlease! NO. Do I have to be responsible and make sure I meet my dealine? Again, no.  Will I do it anyways, even though my comfortable bed is calling my name? And even though posting on here is way more fun? YES.  Because I am a grownup.  And because I am responsible. And worthwhile. And now that I think about it, not hard on the eyes.  OH, and because I do self-affirmations in places for the whole wide world to see.  

I am that cool.

• Seafood that makes you sick, and therefore unable to thoroughly enjoy your Saturday night.
• The snow storm that froze my car doors this morning.
• People that think they know it all...(psst. they never actually do know it all)

Love:

• The sunny day that is happening right now.
• The awesome company I had while eating the bad seafood.
• The perfectly executed "Princess Birthday Party" we threw for Sister #6. She turned a big 3 years old! And it was her golden birthday, so you know we went all out!

As far as my Love&Loathes go, yes, I realize this Monday is seriously lacking.  But, you know what? Its better than nothing at all! muahaha!

Ok, I know I have a lot of catching up to do, and maybe I should apologize for not posting for an entire week, but I'm not gonna.  It has been just one of those weeks. You know what I'm talking about.  The ones that have you beating your head against a hard object, like say, a wall?  

And to be quite honest, I almost didn't post tonight, but what can I say? I just love ya'll soooo much I couldn't resist! 

Anywhoodles, just in case you missed the awesomeness in the above photos, let me suggest you go back.  That is sister #5 and isn't she adorable?  She sorta hijacked my outfit photos, and I can't say that it was a bad thing.  You can totally tell that she grows up in a house full of teenage girls.  She is always posing for the camera and asking for her own lipgloss.  (Even as I type this she is walking around with her hands eagle-spread and touching everything gingerly because she has "wet" nails...did I mention she got them painted over 45 minutes ago?) 

I also took the above loveliness about 10 minutes before I had to leave to go to dinner with a bunch of gals from my office.  And let me just say that it was a dinner to remember! It just doesn't get any better than good food, fabulous ladies, and lots of laughs! Good thing we planned another one! (and its even 2 days before my birthday!)

Oh and I did manage to take  more than one set of outfit pictures in the last week(give me some credit!), but I'm going to pace myself.  And you, my friends, get to be patient! Muahahaha!

The Innerworkings of a fashionably twisted mind

Sometimes I wonder what happens all around the world.  What inspires people to be who they are?  What’s everyday life like in countries a few time zones away from my own?  Am I the only one who comes up with these random thoughts?  I want to know what happens across the sea.  I want to know about the little secrets that isn’t blasted across the media.  What goes on in households across this great world of ours?  Are we all the same?  Or do I live in a small box that is Utah and all around me is people leading wonderful and glamorous lives?

And this is what runs through my mind as I browse through my LookBook account.  Yes, it’s true. Looking at other people’s interpretations of style sends me into a pensive world of self-reflection and inquisitorial considerations.

…and then boredom sets in which leads me to create beautiful works of art, using my face and the photo booth app on my Mac.

Love&Loathe ... Wednesday?

I'm behind, I know! But, like the ol' sayin goes- "better late than never!" (Work with me people!)

Loathe

- When you buy a new necklace and it breaks the first time you wear it.
- When you don’t try something on at the store and then find out that it does not fit your Texas sized hips. (because everything’s bigger in Texas ya’ll)
- Going to every Redbox within a 10 mile radius of your house, only to find that NONE of them have the movie you wanted.
- Being wayyyy behind on my bog posts because life does indeed, catch up with you. (Not hard in my case; I can't run very fast!)



Love

- When you find the perfect blazer and it just happens to go with everything!
- Getting your nails done-for FREE. Girlfriends are the best.
- When you order something online and it finally arrives. And then your elation brought on by the arrival is heightened because you love what you got even more than when you saw it on your computer screen. Buyer’s remorse be damned!
- When my bank account is as happy as I am.
- Realizing that my birthday is a mere 5 weeks away! (FYI it’s kind of a big deal)
- The fact that I never regret having a salad for lunch.
- Going to redbox two days later and finding the above mentioned movie, and watching it last night. :)

So pretty much I am a rebel and I wore white pants before Memorial Day. I got a strange hair and bought them online and on sale! Double whammy!
As for these shoes, they take Ccccourage to pull off.  I personally LOVE them.
Now, the blazer.  I have been searching for a perfect blazer for a long time. Well, I found it!
